I’ve asked this question before but cant seem to get past all the spam about acai berry and other diets so I’ll ask again and hope someone has a similar situation or some useful advice. I’m 28, 5′2″ and last i checked 166lbs. According to my BMI im obese. If u saw my picture you wouldnt think of me as obese but all my doctors tell me i need to lose weight now or risk health problems in the future. I was taking Celexa for anxiety and depression for the last 2 years and thats when i noticed the major weight packing on. I got off that and felt like crap so my doctor put me on wellbutrin cuz you arent supposed to gain weight and some lose weight. I’ve been on it 2 weeks and haven’t lost or gained anything. I’m also on Seasonal for birth control and have been on that for 4 years. Now as of 3 months ago i have a period that won’t stop. as of 2 months ago when i noticed i had really gotten big I began running, going to the gym doing bikes, elipticals, and light weights. I go 3 times a week for an hour cuz i work 3 jobs and that’s all the time i can spend. I also do cardio daily at home with crunches, light weights, and tension bands. I had been doing this for 2 months and when i stepped on the scale i had actually gained weight. I’m also on a strict diet. Low calorie, low fat, low sodium foods at only 1500 calories a day. i try to eat small meals throughout the day. fruit and granola in the morning, salad or lean cuisine for lunch, grilled chicken veggies and a small amount of rice for dinner, with small snacks of fruit or nuts in between. I always feel puky and hungry at the same time ( could be a side effect of the wellbutrin) In any case i’m working out hard and dietting. According to this calorie calculator i found, I burn over 3000 calories a day at work, at home, working out, and sleeping. So if i’m only eating 1500 why am i still gaining weight? I’ve had my thyroid tested, my metabolism, my blood tested for anything that is causing this and nothing is wrong. I’m not pregnant. I want to lose this weight, i feel gross, my clothes no longer fit, my pictures look horrible and i feel like i’m trying everything. It’s only been 2 weeks since i started the wellbutrin so it may not be enough time to tell what the pill is doing. I don’t want to go off it cuz i get anxious and depressed but i’m tired of gaining the 20lbs a year i seemed to be gaining. I don’t know what else to do, i don’t feel i’m slacking off exercising by any means. I sweat horribly, and keep my heart rate between 115 -150. I just wish someone could give me some helpful advice or tell me that they’ve been through this and there is a way. If you were on celexa or started wellbutrin and lost weight how long did it take? Or could it be the birth control pill and something to do with my 3 month period. Everyone says i’m retaining water, should i try a water pill, i looked and they all have caffine which i’m not supposed to have with the wellbutrin. I’m so lost. I have no insurance and despite 3 jobs its hard to have to pay 200-500 out of pocket to see a doctor. I go when i can, but in the meantime someone with any info please help.
I do walk a lot at my main work. I’m a surgical assistant so a majority of my 10 hour day is walking sometimes running from room to room.
